Business Chinese
Course Description:
Any economic and commercial transaction between China and foreign country may be viewed as cross-cultural activities
in nature. The removal of language barriers and difficulties that lie in the understanding of the culture, subtle
points and principles expressed by a target language will be greatly beneficial for one’s commercial success.
This course is designed to teach business Chinese in three-in-one training pattern that combines the language
as a carrier with commercial activities and cross-cultural knowledge with a focus on vocabulary and conversation for
the business professional. Students will increase Chinese proficiency in the areas of
international business, economics, trade and finance. Students will explore both language
and cultural aspects of doing business in China. After introduce the basic knowledge of the
language, students will obtain such skills to be used in language communication from the course are as followings:
(1) Ability to use appropriated expressions on polite social occasion of reception, greeting, introduction,
apology and congratulation.
(2) Ability to use appropriated expressions for shopping, traveling, transportation tools, telephoning and
appointment making.
(3) Ability to use appropriated expressions for commercial activities such as giving a brief account of a
company or product, getting or giving a quotation, comment or statement.
(4) Ability to use appropriated expressions in consulting, negotiating, bargaining, writing or revising a plan,
discussing a way to cooperate, making a comment on a subject in addition to analyzing and sorting out problems.
(5) Apply the principles of Sun Tzu's Art of War to modern business.
All courses will be taught by certified Chinese teachers or by experienced native Chinese educators.

Instruction Format:
Small group or individual, based on student needs

Fee:
Small Group: $25-45 each hour based on the number of students of the class
Individual Instruction: $55 each hour.
Discount:
The second person in a family $30 off, and $50 off the third family member.
Refund Policy:
No refunds will be given after a program begins.
Certificate/Credit:
Hanban and Bangor Chinese School will issue a certificate to students who pass a comprehensive test.
High school credits, college credits, and CEUs are available for students who complete certain hours study and reach certain
